THREE top drug targets in Cordillera region are now in jail after being arrested in separate buy-bust operations which led in the confiscation of nearly P40,000 worth of shabu this week, Cordillera Police Regional Office director Brigadier General Ronald O. Lee said on Saturday.

One of the suspects identified as Remelyn Balbin alias “Vans,” a 28-year-old resident of Bgy. Puguis, La Trinidad, Benguet, was arrested in a sting in Buyagan area last Monday.

Lee said the suspect yielded nearly 3 grams of the so-called “poor man’s cocaine” valued at more than P18,000 as well as the buy-bust money and the cell phone she used in making contact with the poseur.

The second, identified as Herman Benito Molitas, 46, a laborer from Kibungan, Benguet tagged as one of the top 10 drug personalities in Cordillera, was arrested in a sting in Caponga, Tublay municipality on Monday.

Lee said undercover officers from the Cordillera Regional Special Operations Group/Regional Intelligence Division recovered over P20,000 worth of shabu from the suspect.

The third, identified as Robin Almandres alias “Asiong,” 24, a resident of Shamolog, Central Pico in La Trinidad, Benguet, yielded some P500 worth of shabu during an entrapment operation in Betag area.

All three suspects are now facing non-bailable charges for sale and possession of prohibited drugs under Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, said the official.
