CIDG arrests 6 most wanted men

SIX most wanted persons were arrested in separate manhunt operations conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in the country this week, a report to PNP chief General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar said.

Two of the suspects identified as Ammad Tanjing, 39, and his cousin Mussein Jala, 48, were arrested in their hiding place in Bgy. Poblacion in Imelda, Zamboanga Sibugay by combined operatives from the CIDG, the Police Regional Office 9 and the Philippine Army.

Both suspects are wanted for murder with no bail recommended for their temporary liberty by Judge Josefino Bael of the Imelda Regional Trial Court Branch 31.

Ferro said that tagged as the third and fifth most wanted persons in Olutanga municipality, the two are said to be members of the notorious Camsa Criminal Group whose leader Camsa Andanal was killed in a gunbattle with government troops in 2011.

The four others were arrested in manhunt operations in Cebu City, Laguna and Quezon provinces and Manila City.

Christopher Pable, a wanted murder suspect, was arrested in Bgy. Inayawan in Cebu City while Anthony Espallando, the subject of a non-bailable rape case, was arrested in Bgy. Inaclagan in Gumaca, Quezon.

The fifth, Melvin Reyes, was arrested in Bgy. 2 in Cabuyao, Laguna on the strength of a warrant for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, while the sixth, Jason Pamintuan, a man wanted for robbery, was caught in San Diego Street in Sampaloc, Manila.
