THE Land Transportation Office – National Capital Region (LTO-NCR) West warned “choosy” taxi drivers of penalties if they refuse to convey passengers returning from Holy Week break.

LTO-NCR West Director Roque I. Verzosa III said regional personnel have been instructed to implement “Oplan Isnabero” until April 14 and catch erring PUV drivers.

He emphasized that due to the increasing number of travelers and commuters who require public transportation to reach their destinations, any form of passenger refusal would not be tolerated.

“Sisiguraduhin namin na mapaparusahan ang mga taxi drivers na tatanggi magsakay ng pasahero,” he said.

He said refusal to render service to the public or convey passengers to their destination is punishable by a fine ranging from P5,000 to P15,000. Additionally, the violator’s Certificate of Public Conveyance (CPC) may also be revoked.
