BROOKE Van Sickle unloaded 36 points as PetroGazz nipped Chery Tiggo, 22-25, 25-12, 25-18, 27-29, 15-12, to move closer in bagging the Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference bronze at the Smart Araneta Coliseum last night.

Van Sickle, who missed matching the league’s all-time scoring record locals of 38 points set by Creamline’s Tots Carlos earlier this conference, had 31-of-64 kills, four blocks and a service aces that went along with 10 receptions.

“I couldn’t do that with my teammates, right? It’s a six-man sport. I didn’t realized that I had that many points,” said Van Sickle.

KC Galdones, a fifth set starter, delivered the match-sealing ace as the Angels moved closer in securing third place.

PetroGazz shoots for its first podium finish for the first time since placing second in the First All-Filipino Conference last year, hopes to close it out in Game 2 slated on Sunday at the Big Dome.

Jonah Sabete scored 21 points and collected 11 digs while MJ Phillips had three service aces to finish with 15 points for the Angels.

Djanel Cheng, the PetroGazz starting setter who made things happen for Van Sickle, tossed in 22 excellent sets and fired a match-best four aces.

Eya Laure, who presided the Crossovers’ fourth set fightback, finished with 23 points and 11 receptions.
