MANILA Mayor Isko Moreno congratulated those behind the city government’s mass vaccination program, for continuously breaking their own record in terms of number of persons inoculated in a single day.

Moreno said the vaccination output recorded as of 8 p.m. on May 29 reached 21,824 all in one day.

Notably, the number of vaccines for the said day was limited to only 1,300 doses for each of the 12 vaccination sites simultaneously opened that day.

Just like all other towns and cities, Manila also depends on the vaccine allotment given by the national government.

The mayor said it can be easily gleaned that the city government can jab even more in a day if only there is a steady supply of vaccines.

Moreno said he takes pride in the dedication of the city officials and employes involved in the mass vaccination program, particularly Vice Mayor Honey Lacuna, the Manila Health Department headed by Dr. Arnold ‘Doks’ Pangan and the Manila Disaser Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) under Arnel Angeles, among others.

According to him, the vaccinating teams have already mastered the system so that the processes involved are not only orderly but very expeditious too.

Moreno also praised the personnel behind the vaccination program whom he said never complained even if he had them working 14 hours straight on days whenever there is ample supply of vaccines to give to those interested and even during weekends and holidays.

On such days, Moreno opens at least 18 vaccination sites where operations last from 6 a.m. up to 8 p.m. Sometimes, the vaccination extends even later if there are still people in line.

The total number of vaccines deployed in Manila has already reached 246,601 as of May 28.

Manila has topped in the National Capital Region as the city that has vaccinated the most number of people at the shortest possible time, based on the NCR Overall Summary report of the Regional Vaccination Operations Center.
