A GRADE 12 student was arrested for allegedly forcibly taking a 13-year-old girl’s ring then raping her on Tuesday afternoon in Quezon City.

The 20-year-old suspect is now detained at the Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14).

According to PLTCOL May Genio, the incident happened at 3:00 PM on March 21, 2023 in Brgy. Pasong Tamo, Quezon City.

Investigation showed the victim, a Grade 7 student, was on her way to her aunt’s house before the incident.

However, when she reached Lower Sampalucan St., the suspect allegedly blocked her path and forcibly took her ring.

The suspect then put the ring on his finger and went home.

The victim followed the suspect to his house to get her ring.

Once inside the suspect’s house, the latter allegedly grabbed her, pushed her to the bed and raped her.

The victim decided not to reveal her ordeal to her father for fear that the suspect will hurt her.

She however, reported the incident to her Class Adviser who in turn told her parents.

The victim together with her parents sought the assistance of PS 14 operatives that led to the arrest of the suspect.

Appropriate charges are being prepared against the suspect.

Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, PBGEN Torre III commended the operatives for their prompt response, which resulted in the suspect’s arrest.
