THE Bureau of Immigration (BI) has deported a Taiwanese national tagged as a fugitive by his home country.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco shared that they have deported Chen Chein Ning, 53, who departed the Philippines via a China Airlines flight to Taipei, Wednesday, March 22.

Chen was arrested earlier this month by elements of the BI’s fugitive search unit in Makati City, in coordination with agents from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and Anti Organized Crime Unit and Intelligence Division of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group of the Philippine National Police.

He is reportedly a wanted fugitive in Taiwan and is the subject of an arrest warrant issued by the Chiayi District Prosecutors Office in 2006 for kidnapping.

Chen is also said to be the ringleader of a notorious syndicate in Taiwan that engages in the production of illegal narcotics, as well as operates telecom fraud, kidnappings, and other illegal activities.

“This is a major arrest for the BI, as foreign nationals like him that are involved in major crimes have no place in our country,” said Tansingco.

As a consequence of the deportation, Chen’s name has been included in the BI’s blacklist, effectively barring him from returning to the Philippines.
