Field employees of DPWH and MMDA received drinking water, water tumblers, and cleansing wipes from Manila Water, which aims to support hydration and health amid intense heat index.

MANILA Water, through its Project Stakeholder Engagement Department and social development arm Manila Water Foundation, handed over hydration and hand hygiene support for government personnel amid the intense heat index.

Through Project DrinkUp!, water tumblers and units of 5-gallon Healthy & Pure potable water were handed over at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) National Capital Region and DPWH Region IV-A Offices. These are for the benefit of personnel in the offices and on field work such as project construction, maintenance, or inspections.

The donations were received by DPWH leaders: Metro Manila First District Engineer Engr Aristotle Ramos, Unified Project Management Office Flood Control Management Cluster Engr Norman Gamboa and Rizal 2nd District Engineering Office Assistant District Engineer Engr Manolito Fabian.

Also present during the handing over ceremony were Manila Water Project Stakeholder Engagement Department Head Badet del Rosario, Project Stakeholder Engagement Section Head Elaine David and representatives from MWF.

Boxes of Cleene Antibacterial Cleansing Wipes from PHILUSA Corporation complemented the hydration donation to support the health and hygiene of our country’s builders.

Recently, Manila Water also distributed bottled drinking water and hydration tumblers to traffic enforcers, street sweepers and road emergency responders of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in EDSA Timog Flyover, Quezon City.

The Company handed over thirty (30) 5-gallon of potable water, 1,000 pieces of 500ml bottled water and 100 water tumblers, in support of MMDA’s “Heatstroke Break” policy. MMDA General Manager Procopio Lipana personally received the donations, along with Traffic Discipline Office Director for Enforcement Victor Nunez.

With the donations, MMDA set up drinking and health monitoring stations in seven locations in EDSA, Commonwealth Avenue and C-5 Road. Aside from MMDA personnel, the stations are also open for motorists and commuters in need of hydration and health break.
