POLICE Regional Office 11 (PRO11) director, Brigadier General Benjamin H. Silo Jr. on Sunday announced the capture of a ranking CPP/NPA official in Southern Mindanao during a manhunt operation in Davao City.

In a report to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, General Rodolfo S. Azurin Jr., the official identified the suspect as 49-year old Shirley Cortez Daguman who was described as a secretary of the Front Committee 51 of the CPP/NPA’s Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.

Silo said members of the Davao City Police Station 12 under Major Amante Nozares arrested the suspect around 3 p.m. Saturday on the strength of a warrant of arrest for attempted murder issued by Judge Retrina Fuentes of the Davao City Regional Trial Court Branch 10.

The official said that a P120,000 bail was recommended by the court for the temporary liberty of the accused who is now being held in a local police station after being apprised of her constitutional rights.
