ABOUT two weeks ago ay pormal nang nagpaalam ang singer, actress-host na si Karla Estrada sa daily morning program na “Magandang Buhay” na pinagsamahan nilang tatlo nina Jolina Magdangal at Melai Cantiveros.

Hindi na niya ito pinaabot sa 6th anniversary ng programa last Monday, August 8.

Bago ito, naging guest co-host ng programa ang Asia’s Songbird na si Regine Velasquez at ang TV Drama Queen na si Judy Ann Santos. But last Monday (August 8) sa 6th anniversary celebration ng programa ay pormal nang ini-announce na si Regine ang magiging opisyal na kapalit ni Karla sa programa .

Bukod sa pagiging host-performer ng “ASAP Natin `To” every Sunday, mapapanood si Regine araw-araw from Monday though Friday sa “Magandang Buhay.”

Ang mister naman ni Regine na si OgieAlcasid ay regular host na ng noontime show na “It’s Showtime” kasama sina Vice Ganda at Anne Curtis. Ito’y bukod pa sa kanyang hosting job at pagiging performer sa “ASAP Natin `To” kung saan niya kasama ang misis niyang si Regine.

Masaya ang mag-asawang Ogie at Regine dahil pareho silang busy ngayon sa Kapamilya channel sa kanilang respective hosting jobs.

Karla nagpaalam, nagpasalamat sa ABS-CBN

ANG major factor kung bakit iniwan ni Karla Estrada ang kanyang hosting job sa “Magandang Buhay” ay dahil sa bagong field na kanyang pinasok, ang pagiging public servant bilang isa sa mga nominee ng Tingog Partylist.

Sobra ang pasasalamat ni Karla sa management ng ABS-CBN dahil sa magandang break na ibinigay sa kanya bilang host ng “Magandang Buhay.”

“I will always cherish the fond memories I had with the show,” pahayag niya.

“Dumarating talaga ang panahon na nasa crossroads ka at kailangan mong mag-desisyon ng path na `yong tatahakin,” dugtong pa niya.

“But I will be eternally grateful sa ABS-CBN dahil bukod sa akin, patuloy nilang inaalagaan ang anak kong si Daniel (Padilla),” pagtatapos pa niya.

Pamilya ni Cherie naglabas ng official statement

DALAWANG araw matapos sumakabilang-buhay ang veteran singer-actress na si Cherie Gil last August 5, naglabas ang kanyang pamilya ng official statement:

“Our family would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to all those who expressed their concern for Cherie during this difficult time.

“It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce tht Cherie passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 5th at 4:48 a.m. EST after a brace battle against cancer.

“Cherie was diagnosed with a rare form of endometrial cancer in October of last year after deciding to relocate to New York City to be closer to her children. She then underwent treatment at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York.

“It was her request tht her diagnosis be kept private, and as a family we supported her in this decision. Cherie fought bravely against her illness, with grace and strength. Despite her struggles she always managed to exude courage and never lost her trademark sass, wit and infectious humor, or her larger-than-life personality. She spent her last days surrounded by family and loved ones.

“While we are deeply saddened by our loss and still mourning her passing, we are incredibly moved by the outpouring of love and support for her and our family; evidence of just how many lives Cherie touched.

“If you have any photos, videos, memories, messages or regards, please send them o [email protected] so we can view them in our own time privately in the spirit of her original wishes, while also celebrating her life, work and legacy.

“In the end, there are no words – only love. Cherie lived with all her heart.

“Always in ours: Cherie Gil Eigenmann-Rogoff (June 21, 1963 – August 5, 2022).”

Sa kanyang pagpanaw ay iniwan ni Cherie ang kanyang tatlong anak na sina Jay Eigenmann (anak niya sa veteran actor na si Leo Martinez) at sina Bianca at Raphael Rogoff, mga anak niya sa kanyang ex-husband, ang internationally-acclaimed Israeli violinist na si Rony Rogoff, her parents na sina Eddie Mesa (82) at Rosemarie Gil (80), natitirang kapatid na si Michael de Mesa, mga pamangkin at mga apo (sa kanyang mga pamangkin).

Although early this year lamang nag-desisyonsi Cherie na bumalik ng New York, USA to spend her remaining time with her children, she was able to conceal her real condition sa publiko until her death.

Marami ang nagulat nang bigla niyang iwan ang kanyang bagong ginagawang serye sa GMA, ang “Legal Wives” na never niya ginawa in her entire showbiz career.

Nabigla rin ang marami nang siya’y magpa-shave ng kanyang buhok at ibenta ang kanyang mga gamit at saka nag-impake patungong New York to be with her children.

At that time ay dumaraan na sa matinding pagsubok si Cherie na hindi alam ng publiko.

Samantala, ang only surviving sibling ni Cherie, ang actor na si Michael de Mesa ay dumaan din sa health issues nang ito’y kapitan ng hepatitis C na halos dalawang dekada niyang nilabanan. Tuluyan lamang siya gumaling sa virus nung 2017.

He was diagnosed of hepatitis C in 1999 pero nagsimula lamang ang gamutan in 2001 hanggang gumaling in 2017.
