ANOTHER male “claimant” on Thursday was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Central Luzon (PDEA-CL) for claiming 424 grams of ketamine worth over P2 million in a “controlled delivery operation.”

The PDEA Region 3 said the arrested suspect was a resident of Sampaloc, City of Manila.

The operation was conducted by operatives led by PDEA-CL, PDEA Clark Airport Interdiction Unit, and Bureau of Customs Port of Clark, yielded a parcel of ketamine declared as “candles” originated from Poland and arrived at the Port of Clark last May 14.

“The parcel containing illegal drugs was declared as ‘Rose Candle.’ A series of tests indicated presence of illegal drugs that prompted us in launching controlled delivery operation,” the PDEA said.

Ketamine is a dangerous drug classified as a “hallucinogen” that can sedate, incapacitate and cause short-term memory loss.

The suspect will be charged with violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of Republic Act 9165.
