CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – Police arrested on Wednesday nine suspects in Bulacan for illegal gambling.

In a report to Police Regional Office (PRO) 3 director Brig. Gen. Jose Hidalgo Jr., Malolos City and Plaridel police were informed of a group of individuals involved in illegal gambling activities in their areas.

Operatives immediately conducted an operation, which resulted in the arrest of eight individuals caught in the act of playing cards and betting games, while another was arrested for illegal “bookies.”

In a related development, Hidalgo ordered the relief of the Orion police chief for “failure to monitor” illegal gambling operations in his area of responsibility.

Capt. Silvestre Colanza replaced the sacked police chief as officer-in-charge (OIC) of the Orion police.

Hidalgo reiterated his warning to all police chiefs to curb illegal gambling in their areas and the “one strike policy” will be strictly implemented.
