A 67-YEAR-OLD man wanted for non-bailable illegal recruitment and estafa case in Metro Manila was arrested by operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) in Pasig City last Tuesday, NCRPO Director Major General Felipe R. Natividad announced yesterday.

The sexagenarian, jobless, resident of Bgy. San Nicolas, Pasig City, was arrested on the strength of warrants for illegal recruitment and estafa issued by Judge Mariano Singson Jr. of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 67, the official said.

The Pasig City judge recommended no bail for the temporary liberty of the suspect in connection with the illegal recruitment case. However, he allowed the sexagenarian to post P160,000 bail for his estafa case.

According to Maj. Gen. Natividad, members of the NCRPO Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RFMB) under Col. Lambert A. Suerte, and the NCRPO Regional Intelligence Division headed by Col. Oscar R. Regala Jr. tracked down the suspect in his residence early morning Tuesday.

“I commend the operating units, particularly the RMFB, whose efforts ‘beef up’ the operational accomplishments of the NCRPO even beyond its mandate. The unceasing manhunt operations against wanted persons are being carried out at the same time,” he said.

Natividad again urged the public to report the presence of wanted persons and other suspicious activities in their neighborhood through the NCRPO hotlines 0915-888-8181 for Globe and 0999-901-8181 for Smart subscribers.

“The information you will provide us will not be taken for granted. Proper actions will be taken upon validation of the report while your identity will remain confidential,” Maj. Gen. Natividad said.
