Delivery driver nabbed for gun, ammo in Laoag
LAOAG CITY – A driver was arrested for illegally possessing a gun and bullets in Barangay 5, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, on Monday.
Col. Julius Suriben, police director, said they arrested the suspect, 38, delivery driver, native of Bgy. Palios, Nueva Ecija, and a resident of Laoag City.
The suspect was collared after personnel of the Laoag Philippine National Police (PNP) received a call from a concerned citizen that a man was standing and walking back and forth in one of the waiting sheds adjacent to Ilocos Norte National High School (INNHS).
The suspect allegedly has a gun tucked in his right waist, prompting the concerned citizen to call for immediate police assistance.
The local police responded at the said place and immediately nabbed the suspect when they saw a gun tucked on his left hip.
During the confrontation, the suspect tried to escape but was immediately apprehended.
Recovered was one cal. 933 pistol with markings F99 with the inserted magazine with eight live ammunition, two mobile phones, a backpack containing ID and suspect’s belongings, a coin purse, and one red Motorstar motorcycle with sidecar.
