GABALDON, Nueva Ecija — A suspected New People’s Army (NPA) rebel surrendered on Tuesday to authorities in Nueva Ecija, bringing with him a cal. 357 revolver and a subversive document called “Batayang Kurso ng Partido,” police here reported.

Police head Captain Aniceto Caraang Jr., in a report to provincial police director Col. Jaime O. Santos, identified the NPA rebel as alias Ka Dindo/Cristy/Jeorge, of Bgy. Bugnan, this town.

The surrenderer was a former active member of the NPA’s Sandatahang Unit Propaganda-3 (SYP-3) operating in this town, Santos said in his report to Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) director Brig. Gen. Valeriano T. De Leon.

Santos said the rebel’s surrender was facilitated after joint coordination was made with the local police, the Army’s 91st IB, 1st PMFC, Laur PNP, Cabanatuan PNP, Bulacan PMFC, PNP SAF, and the PIU-NEPPO.

Santos said the rebel was endorsed to avail of the government’s assistance program for them called the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

“The unremitting efforts of RTF-ELCAC have been the contributory factors for the continuous surrender of more active and former members of CTGs and CNTs,” said De Leon.
