2 men held for stealing goat

SAN JOSE CITY— Two men trying to sell a live goat they allegedly stole were arrested shortly after committing the crime, it was learned.

Police said the goat owner, 67-year-old farmer of Zone 3, Bgy. Sto. Tomas, this city went to the police and said that his female goat was missing and believed stolen by unidentified men.

City police head Lt. Col. Ariel Enriquez said the two suspects, aged 26 and 33, were nabbed after they tried to sell the stolen animal to a 55-year-old man, of Camilla St., Villa Ramos Subd. Bgy. Abar 1st at 12 noon on Monday.

The 55-year-old man immediately went to the police station and reported the identities of the two suspects who offered to sell the stolen goat for P7,000.

Police conducted a follow-up operation resulting in the arrest of the two suspects and the recovery of the stolen goat, including the suspects’ Kawasaki Bajaj tricycle.

Theft charges were filed against the arrested suspects.
