PRC condoles with families of 4 MSU bombing fatalities

PRC1THE Philippine Red Cross (PRC) condoled with the families of the four persons killed in the Marawi bombing Sunday at the Mindanao State University (MSU).

In a statement, PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon said despite this difficult and challenging situation, PRC staff and volunteers will remain on the ground and continue to support the victims and their families.

“We have set up welfare desks and conducted psychosocial support for the traumatized and first aid sessions since Sunday to assist the 302 students who were inside the amphitheater when the bombing occurred, as well as other students moving to the MSU IIT Gym,” he emphasized.

Gordon said they’ve provided eight units of blood to a victim who had to undergo surgery they continue to preposition blood to help those in need.

“We also have health caravans while our other volunteers and staff visit dormitories on the campus to assist students with their hygiene needs and hot meals.

I commend the quick action of our volunteers and staff composed of Sheila Compuesto, Joshua Aaron Hubahib, Remia Salon, Emily Orbon, Michael Orbita, Shrine Salvador and Marry Duffy Almona,” Gordon said.
