THE country’s top chess-playing executives return to action when the 2022 National Executive Chess Championships resumes this Sunday with the South Luzon leg at the Vista Mall, Tagaytay-Sta. Rosa Road, Brgy. Don Jose in Sta. Rosa City, Laguna.

Philippine Executive Chess Association (PECA) president Dr. Fred Paez said trophies and cash prizes are at stake in the one-day competition, with the champion taking home the lion’s share of P12,000.

The runner-up and third placer will receive P8,000 and P5,000 respectively. All top three finishers will also bring home trophies.

The fourth placer will get P3,000 plus medal , while the fifth placer will pocket P2,000 plus medal.

Category winners in the Top 1900 and below, Top 1800 and below, Top Unrated, Top Lady and Top Senior, 60 years old and above will also earn P2,000 each.

The top five winners in the Youth Division will receive P5,000, P3,000, P2,000, P1,000 and P700, respectively.

Category winners in the Top Lady, Top Under 12 (Boys), Top Under 12 (Girls), Top Under 10 (Boys), Top Under 10 (Girls), Top Under 8 (Boys) and Top Under 8 (Girls) will bring home P700 each.

The FIDE-rated event is sanctioned by the National Chess Federation of the Philippines and supported by Vista Mall – Sta Rosa, Rotary Club of Nuvali, City of Sta. Rosa. Chooks-to-Go , Macolor Semicon Tooling and Fabrication.

Registration fee is P1,000 (Executive Division) before October 15 and P1,200 on-site; and P300 (Youth)before October 15) and (P400 on-site).
