Pasilidad na may P500M imported motor vehicles ininspeksiyon ng BOC
NAG-INSPEKSYON ang composite team ng Bureau of Customs-Manila International Container Port, National Bureau of Investigation, at Philippine Coast Guard sa mga showrooms sa Xavierville, Quezon City at San Simon, Pampanga na hinihinalang nagtatago ng mga puslit na luxury cars at iba pang motor vehicles na may estimated value na P500,000,000.
Nabatid na nakatanggap ng intelligence report ang mga awtoridad na may smuggled luxury cars sa nasabing mga lugar kaya naglabas ang Commissioner ng Customs ng Letter of Authority (LOA) laban sa mga naturang pasilidad.
Armado ng LOA at Mission Order, ininspeksiyon ng implementing team, na binubuo ng MICP Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service sa pangunguna ni Alvin Enciso, NBI, at PCG Task Force Aduana, ang showroom na nagresulta sa pagkakadiskubre ng luxury cars gaya ng Lamborghini at Ferrari, at motorsiklo o big bikes gaya ng Ducati.
Nadiskubre rin ang ilang bulletproof sports utility vehicles, customized sports cars, trucks, boats, at iba pa.
Ang lahat ng motor vehicles ay walang kaukulang importation documents na naiprisinta.
Ang inventory ng mga goods ay isinagawa rin sa kaparehong araw sa pangunguna ng customs examiner at sinaksihan ng CIIS MICP, PCG, at mga representative/s ng storage/ showroom.
Kung mabibigong magprisinta ang may-ari ng importation documents sa loob ng 15 days, ang mga naturang goods ay isasailalim sa seizure at forfeiture sa ilalim ng Section 224 concerning Section 1113 ng Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).
