LUCENA CITY – After years of existence, police operatives on Tuesday finally dismantled a dreaded drug group operating in this city and nearby towns following the arrest of its leader and a member at Jael Subdivision, Barangay Ilayang Iyam, this city.

Quezon Police Director Col. Ledon Monte said the arrest of alias “Warren,” the leader of “Paderon Drug Group,” and his right hand with the alias “Mark” would reduce the number of the remaining drug groups operating in the province.

Monte said the operation was jointly carried out by Lucena City Police operatives under Lt. Col. Erickson Roranes, Provincial Intelligence Unit, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Quezon unit.

Roranes said they recovered 4.1 grams of shabu with a street value of P83,640 and the buy-bust money.

He said the other drug group members have already been arrested and prosecuted.

The suspects were charged with violation of Section 5 and section 11 of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Barely a week ago, several drug suspects were arrested, resulting in the seizure of more than P1 million worth of illegal drugs.
