Romualdez: Signs of potential landslide victory for UniTeam seen

BATANGAS CITY – THE governor of this vote-rich province has vowed all-out support for the UniTeam presidential and vice presidential tandem of former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

“Full support and lalawigan ng Batangas kay Mayor Sara, dahil alam naman niyo basta’t taga Batangas at natulong at maganda ang talagang ginagawa ay full support ang mga taga Batangas na magigiting,” Gov. Hermilando Mandanas told province mates on Tuesday when the Davao mayor visited the province.

He said Batangueños recognize Duterte as one of them because is husband, lawyer Mans Carpio, comes from Ibaan town.

She has also been helping the province, he said.

“Napakahalaga nito, dahil ating kikilalanin and napakalaking tulong ni Mayor Sara sa lalawigan ng Batangas,” he added.

As for Duterte’s standard-bearer Marcos Jr., Mandanas said, “Si Bongbong Marcos, personally siya ay aking ineendorso at siya ang aking presidente, at si Inday Sara ang aking vice president.”

He pointed out that he is supporting the UniTeam candidates principally because they aim to unite the country so it can cohesively solve the problems it is facing.

“Nakita ko na sila ay isinusulong nila ang kailangan ng ating bansa ngayon, pagkakaisa, pagtutulungan, hindi yung laging alitan, laging ang hinahanap ay kung ano ang mali, ang kailangan ngayon ay magsama-sama,” he stressed.

The UniTeam candidates came from Northern Luzon, the traditional bailiwick of the Marcoses, where governors, mayors and other local officials and supporter committed their overwhelming support for them.

The Northern Luzon journey took the team from Nueva Ecija, Nueva Vizcaya, Isabela and Cagayan on the eastern side to Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Zambales on the western side.

“Judging from the warm reception and the endorsements we received, Solid North is indeed solid behind our UniTeam candidates,” Lakas-CMD president and House Majority Leader Martin G. Romualdez, who is accompanying the BBM-Sara tandem, said.

“Combined that with the wide support Mayor Sara and BBM enjoy in Mindanao, where their survey scores are above 80 percent, and in Visayas, we see signs of a potential landslide victory for our candidates,” Romualdez, campaign manager of Duterte, said.

“Thus, it’s not surprising that many local officials from other regions are now joining the BBM-Sara bandwagon,” Romualdez said.
