DINALUPIHAN, Bataan — A total of 4,367 Dinalupiheños have availed of free chest x-ray service that was sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development’s TB Platforms Project.

Municipal Health Officer Joselito Timple said that among the recipients were daycare center children and their parents, senior citizens and contact of Tuberculosis patients.

“Active Case Finding aims to screen patients for TB. It also finds a way to cater other health problems that may be encountered incidentally,” Timple said in a statement. “This effort led the way for 83 TB patients to be enrolled to treatment to date. Astonishingly, we detected two Rifampicin-resistant TB and we enrolled them for Drug Resistant TB treatment.”

The town’s TB program, in collaboration with other health programs of the municipality under Mayor Gila Garcia, fosters the Patient-Centered Approach and offers a chance to implement the TB Preventive Treatment.

“Psychologically, people benefit from the fact that they are not forgotten even during this pandemic. Any TB case finding effort leads the way to finding missing TB cases, enrolment to and completion of treatment addressing all aspects of the disease, and dawns the day when TB ends,” he added.
