QC policemen arrest 1,783 gamblers
THE Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested 1,783 illegal gambler, including EZ2 bet collectors, in it’s campaign against illegal gambling from Sept. 2023 to Jan. 31, 2024.
QCPD Director PBGen. Redrico A Maranan said 639 operations targeting bettors in “Tupada,” “Tong-its,” Mahjong,” “Cara y Cruz”, “Lucky 9”, “Pocker” and illegal number games specifically EZ 2 Loteng were executed by policemen.
These efforts led to the confiscation of P271,828.75 bet money and illegal gambling paraphernalia.
The suspects were charged for violation of PD 1602 (Illegal Gambling) before the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office.
Maranan lauded his officers and men for their accomplishments.
“Tuloy-tuloy po ang ating anti-criminality operations kasama na rito ang pagsugpo ng mga illegal gambling para mapanatili ang kaayusan ng ating lungsod” he added.
