QC cops bag 7 MWPs, 19 gamblers in anti-crime ops

IN line with Quezon City Police District’s (QCPD) intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, QCPD Director Police Brigadier General Nicolas D Torre III announced the arrest of seven wanted individuals and 19 illegal gambling suspects in the latest anti-criminality operations in Quezon City.

In the campaign against wanted persons, seven were arrested, including two station-level “most wanted persons” (MWPs) of La Loma Police Station (PS 1) and Anonas Police Station (PS 9).

Personnel of PS 1 under P/Lt. Col. Garman Manabat, station commander, arrested the no. 3 MWP from Caloocan City, at about 6:00 p.m. of October 9, 2022, along Camarin, Caloocan City, for rape issued by Presiding Judge Evangeline S. Mendoza-Francisco, of Branch 270, Regional Trial Court (RTC), Valenzuela City.

PS 9 under P/Lt. Col. Ritchie Claravall arrested their no. 6 MWP from Antipolo City for rape issued by Presiding Judge Juan Jose III Palanca Enriquez, of Br. 149, RTC, Makati City.

Meanwhile, five other MWPs were arrested by other stations.

Masambong Police Station (PS 2) under P/Lt. Col. Imelda Reyes served the warrant of arrest against a suspect at PS 2 Custodial Facility for theft.

Also, PS 2 served a warrant of arrest against a suspect from Bgy. Talayan, Quezon City, at PS Custodial Facility, for reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property.

Project 4 Police Station (PS 8) under P/Lt. Col. Leoben Ong arrested a suspect in his residence for violating R.A. 9003 or the Ecological Waste Management Act of 2000.

PS 9 arrested a suspect in Fairview, Quezon City, for violating R.A. 9262 or Violence Against Women and their Children Act.

Joint personnel of Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) under P/Lt. Col. Roldante Sarmiento and Llorente Municipal Police Station arrested a suspect, resident of Eastern Samar, for violation of R.A. 10591 or Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition.

In the campaign against illegal gambling, 19 persons were arrested by Talipapa Police Station (PS 3), Fairview Police Station (PS 5), Batasan Police Station (PS 6), and Anonas Police Station.

The suspects will be charged with violation of P.D. 1602 or Anti-Illegal Gambling Law, while the courts of origin will be notified of the arrest of the wanted persons.

“Binabati ko ang ating kapulisan sa walang humpay na pagsasagawa ng anti-criminality operations dahilan upang maaresto ang mga suspek. Sa ating mga kababayan, nawa’y makiisa at suportahan natin ang mga programa ng pambansang kapulisan para sa katahimikan, kapayapaan at kaunlaran ng pamayanan,” QCPD Chief Torre III said.
