QCPD serves warrant to Kilusang Mayo Uno, PASODA-PISTON execs

QUEZON City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Nicolas D. Torre III, announced the service of a warrant of arrest to Kara Taggaoa, former League of Filipino Student spokesperson and now officer of Kilusang Mayo Uno International and Larry Balbuena, a.k.a. Helari Cahayon Valbuena, president of Pasiklab Operators and Drivers Association (PASODA) under PISTON.

The QCPD identified the accused as Kara Taggaoa, 24, student, resident of Brgy. Project 3, Quezon City, currently International Secretary of Information Affairs of KMU and Larry Balbuena, a.k.a. Helari Cahayon Valbuena, 62, Brgy. Commonwealth, Quezon City.

Taggaoa was arrested at about 10:18 a.m. on October 10, 2022 while Balbuena was arrested at about 10:30 a.m. of the same date in front of the RTC Hall of Justice, Quezon City Hall Complex, Brgy. Central, Quezon City.

The accused has a pending Warrant of Arrest for Direct Assault issued by Judge Ludmila de Pio Lim, of Branch 34, Metropolitan Trial Court (MeTC), Quezon City docketed under Criminal Case No. 21-07770.

Investigation further revealed that both accused were involved in a mauling incident which occurred on July 11, 2020 inside the Commission of Human Rights (CHR) compound in Brgy. UP Campus, Quezon City.

Both accused are now under the custody of QCPD Centralized Custodial Facility.

The court of origin will be notified on the arrest of the wanted persons.

“I commend the efforts of our operatives for the successful service of Warrant of Arrest to these two Wanted Persons. “Ang pagkakahuli sa kanila ay patunay lamang na ang ating kapulisan ditto sa Quezon City ay agresibo upang matugis at mapanagot ang mga kriminal na nagkasala sa ating batas,”PBGEN Torre III said.
