A 49-YEAR old well-wisher at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 4 in Pasay City wanted on charges of bigamy and child abuse was arrested by members of the Philippine National Police Aviation Security Group on Wednesday morning.

A resident of Barangay Anas, Masbate City, the accused was arrested at the NAIA Terminal 4 departure area on the strength of warrants of arrest for violation of Article 349 of the Revised Penal Code otherwise known as ‘Bigamy’ and Ra 7610 or the Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act.

According to PNP-ASG director, Brigadier General Christopher N. Abrahano, they got the information regarding the wanted suspect from the Police-Community Affairs and Development Group.

It turned out that the PCADG headed by Brig. Gen. Restituto B. Arcangel got a tip from a concerned citizen regarding the suspect whose arrest on charges of bigamy was ordered by Judge Caroline Tobias of the Manila City Regional Trial Court Branch 7 last January 27 with a P24,000 recommended bail.

On the other hand, Judge Abigail Domingo-Laylo of the Malabon City RTC Branch 73 ordered the suspect to be released on an P80,000 bail for the child abuse case he is facing.

PNP-ASG and PCADG officers eventually waited for the suspect’s arrival at NAIA Terminal 4 following a tip that he will be accompanying his mother who has an early morning flight for Masbate.

The suspect was immediately informed of his constitutional rights after being accosted by the policemen.
