CAVITE – At the beginning of the year 2023, the Cavite Police began destroying the confiscated different types of fireworks and fireworks during the previous New Year celebrations in other areas of the province yesterday morning in the city of Trece Martires, Cavite.

Different types of fireworks worth P260,000 were destroyed by immersing them in water drums while the rest, like improvised cannons or “boga,” were rolled over by fire trucks.

Cavite Provincial Police Office (CPPO) Director Police Col. Christopher Olazo led the destruction of the fireworks at Camp Pantaleon Garcia Provincial Headquarters in Imus Cavite together with some officers of the province and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) at 9 a.m.

The destroyed fireworks include Piccolo, Five Star, Pla Pla, Whistle bomb, Judas belt, Atomic Bomb, Bawang, Super Lolo, Mother Rockets, Goodbye Binladen, and other “powerful” firecrackers confiscated in different areas of the province.

Olazo noted the overall “peaceful” celebration of the New Year festivities in the province despite the reported firecracker-related injuries in General Mariano Alvarez (GMA) and Rosario, but all were discharged after getting treatment for their injuries.

The illegal fireworks were seized in seven cities and 16 municipalities welcoming the year 2023, according to CPPO.
