Cops recover stolen motorcycle; suspect arrested

MEMBERS of the Anti-Carnapping Unit of the Pasig Police on Wednesday seized a stolen motorcycle from a teacher after it was discovered being sold in a Facebook group page.

P/Col. Celerino Sacro Jr., Pasig Police chief, said a black-orange Honda Click (313XAH) was recovered from one alias Niño, 26, of Brgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City.

P/Major Loreto Tigno, Pasig police investigation chief, said the motorcycle was recovered in an operation conducted by anti-carnapping (ANCAR) unit of the Southern Police District (SPD) at around 5:00 p.m. at a gasoline station in Manuel L. Quezon St., Brgy. Hagonoy, Taguig City.

Tigno disclosed that the owner of the motorcycle is alias Kenedy, 40, of Brgy. Kalawaan, Pasig City.

Kenedy told the police one of his students saw the motorcycle being sold for P39,000 through a Facebook group page.

The motorcycle was stolen while parked at around 1:00 p.m. last May 12 in front of Pasig City General Hospital in Brgy. Maybunga.

The victim immediately reported the incident to the ANCAR, who later arranged an operation to corner the suspect.

The victim and suspect checked the motorcycle and after several minutes the latter was arrested and the motorcycle was recovered.
