NOVELETA, Cavite — The newly-elected Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) in this town were formally sworn in during the election of its new set of officers held at the El Palacio Hotel Function Room in Bgy. San Rafael 4 on Tuesday..

Barangay Salcedo 1 SK chairwoman Ashley Villareal was elected as the new SK Federation president of the town of Noveleta.

The other elected officers were Paolo Ermitaño of San Jose 1 as vice president; Richelle Balen, San Rafael 1 as secretary; Yuan Bersabe, San Rafael 2 – treasurer; Denz Pantaleon, San Juan 1-auditor; Ericson Arlanza, San Juan 2-PRO and John Patrick Morga of Bgy. Poblacion – sergeant-at-arms.

Mayor Dino Chua presided over the swearing in of the new local SK officials in a simple ceremony attended by MLGOO Charmaine Lopez, Comelec officer Maria Rowena Jarin, Police Major Rene Dale Cairel, local police chief; and Sangguniang Bayan secretary Cristy Castro.

Based on the DILG Memorandum Circular 2023-166, to ensure smooth transition, the newly-elected SK and barangay officials can be used as guide prior and during their assumption of office.

Outgoing BSKOs were also instructed to submit the final inventory of the Barangay and SK properties, financial records, documents, and properties (PFRDs) and money accountabilities and to ensure turnover of the same to the incoming or newly-elected BSKOs.

The DILG also clarified that it was prompted to issue the guidelines following the advice of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) that winning barangay and SK election candidates, upon being proclaimed and taking their oath, can effectively assume office.

The newly-elected SK Federation of Silang was sworn-in before Mayor Kevin Anarna led by SK federation president Jasper Marcus Anarna (Brgy. Maguyam), vice president: Neil Buso (Bgy.. Anahaw 1), secretary: Althea Legaspi (Bgy. Tubuan 2), treasurer: Rodeth Ace De Leon (Bgy. Tartaria), auditor: Max Zyrus Anarna (Bgy. Mataas na Burol), PRO: Ronald Gabrielle Manaig (Bgy. Lalaan 1) and sgt-at-arms: Ivan Danielle Montegrande from Bgy. San Miguel 2 in a simple rites held at the municipal hall grounds.
