New Tingog Center in Iloilo now ready to serve!
IN fulfilling its core advocacy of bringing government services closer to the people, Tingog Party-list, headed by Committee on accounts Chairperson Yedda Romualdez and Deputy Majority Leader Rep. Jude Avorque Acidre, officially opens a Tingog Center in the Congressional District Office Headquarters, Barangay Pasig, Sara, Iloilo on April 27, 2024.
This Tingog Center in the 5th District of Iloilo, under the leadership of Cong. Boboy Tupas, will strengthen the convergence effort among stakeholders, partners, entities and institutions that will pave the way to make programs and services accessible to the people.
As a one-stop shop, the center intends to offer and extend various social services to the public, particularly to those residing in marginalized communities.
In its inaugural celebration, over 1,267 beneficiaries from the transportation sector convened at the Northern Iloilo State University-Sara Campus as well as 1,080 farmers and fisherfolk in Carles, Iloilo.
They received financial aid through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) Program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), in collaboration with the Office of the House Speaker and Tingog Party-list for off-site distribution.
This initiative aids in providing for the basic needs as well as in easing the current situation of beneficiaries in Sara and Carles in Iloilo, which are in a state of calamity due to the severe impacts of the El Niño.
Tingog Party-list said it remains committed to bringing true service closer to the people.
