INSTEAD of meeting his “date”, whom he met through Facebook, a man who allegedly raped his 12-year-old daughter was arrested by members of the Eastern Police District-District Special Operations Unit (EPD-DSOU) during an operation in Laguna the other day.

Reports submitted to EPD Director Brig. Gen Orlando Yebra Jr., the suspect listed as rank no. 1 most wanted person (MWP) in EPD, is a resident of Nagpayong, Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig.

The suspect was nabbed by combined members of DSOU and the District Intelligence Unit (DIU) along Masapang National Highway, Bgy. Masapang, Victoria, Laguna at around 11:50 a.m.

According to P/SSgt. Rommel Fajutag of DSOU, the suspect was arrested based on the virtue of a warrant issued by Judge Jesus Angelito Huertas Jr. of Pasig Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 261 for the charges of statutory rape and rape issued on May 5, 2022.

Records showed the suspect has been accused by his own daughter of allegedly raping her on two different occasions inside their house in Bgy. Pinagbuhatan, Pasig in 2020.

“Nitong 2022 nagtapat yung bata sa nanay niya na ginalaw siya nung sarili niyang ama, kaya kinasuhan yung suspect nitong Feb. 2022 sa Pasig Police Women’s and Children’s Desk,” Fajutag said

After the suspect learned about the rape complaint at the Pasig Police Station, he left their house and went into hiding from different places in Pasig City.

In May, he transferred to his sister’s house in Calauan, Laguna, to continue hiding from the authorities.

Fajutag explained that they traced Saludas through his brotherhood organization’s Facebook (FB) account.

A police officer pretended to be a girl and was able to chat with the suspect on the FB social media platform and agreed to meet up for a date, but unknown to him, he was already messaging a member of DSOU.

Police teams led by Fajutag collared the suspect while waiting with his “chatmate” at their meet-up place along Victoria, Laguna.

He is now detained at the Pasig Police custodial facility with no bail recommended.
