THREE Chinese nationals were rescued by the Manila Police District (MPD) after they were allegedly detained by their compatriots in a ‘safehouse’in Makati City.

The MPD-General Assignment and Investigation Section(MPD-GAIS) identified the victims as Zhen Xiao, 24, a Chinese club cook and residing in a village in Parañaque City; Gao Feng, 29, of Seqouia Hotel in Pasay City and Lin Lin, 37, a POGO employee, of Pasig City.

Arrested during the operation was one Jun Chen, 28, of 9270-A Dita St., Barangay San Antonio, Makati City. His alleged accomplices are now being hunted down by the police, of which one was identified as Wen Zhongyang, 22, of Unit 22-A Tower 2, Shore Residences, Pasay City and four other Chinese nationals whose names are yet to be established.

MPD chief PBGen. Leo Francisco said that based on a report forwarded to his office, victims Lin and Zhen were found tied inside a four-storey house located at 8407 Mayapis Street, Brgy San Antonio, Makati City.

Chen was nabbed while trying to flee and after jumping off the window, landing in the adjacent house and causing injuries. He was rushed to the Ospital ng Maynila.

Francisco said the kidnapping was discovered based on a tipped information relayed to the MPD-Dagonoy Police Community Precinct. The caller reported that a male Chinese national was seen loitering aimlessly along Opalo Street in Sta. Ana. It was Gao.

When brought to the police station, Gao led the police to where the other victims were, after the MPD-GAIS coordinated with the Makati Police.

Charges of kidnapping and serious illegal detention were filed against Chen at the Manila Prosecutor’s Office.
