MC driver dies in Batangas road mishap
A 40-YEAR-OLD foreman died after accidentally colliding with a van while driving a motorcycle along the road in Calatagan, Batangas, Thursday morning.
Calatagan Municipal Police Station investigators PSSgs. Samuel C. Riva and Lodjie Nanit Coz who were first arrived at the scene identified the fatality as Danilo Hernandez, single, foreman, and a resident of Bgy. Poblacion 2, Calatagan.
Investigation showed that at around 7:50 a.m on February 17, a silver Toyota Hi-Ace passenger van driven by Ronnie Villorente Vipinoso, 50, of General Trias, Cavite was seen traversing along the National Highway, in Bgy. Talisay, this municipality.
The van driver tried to overtake the other vehicles when it accidentally collided with the approaching blue Honda Wave 100 motorcycle driven by Hernandez which is traveling in the opposite direction.
Due to the big impact, the victim was tossed off and landed on the concrete pavement.
He sustained severe injuries in different parts of the body and was rushed to Calatagan Medicare Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending physician Dr. Marry Ann E. Guevarra.
The van driver and his passenger were reported unhurt.
