Los Baños to hold 21st ‘Bañamos Festival’
AFTER more than two years due to pandemic, the town of Los Baños, Laguna, known as a “Special Science Nature City”, will celebrate the “21st Bañamos Hotspring Bath Festival 2022” with five days of colorful events along with the celebration of the 407th founding anniversary from September 14 to 18, 2022.
The announcement was made by Mayor Anthony F. Genuino which has dubbed as “Nagkakaisang Mamamayan Tungo sa Mas Progresibong Bagong Los Baños” in a press conference held in multi-purpose hall municipal building together with Vice Mayor Josephine Sumangil Evangelista and other Sanguniang Bayan members.
According to Mayor Genuino, the five-day celebrations will introduce and showcase the tourism industry and support local businesses recovering from the pandemic.
“Kailangan muling dagsain ang Bañamos Festival upang makabangon na naudlot dahil sa pandemiya… Kailangan natin maipakita na maraming bago upang masaksihan ang kakaibang festival”, Genuino said.
The Bañamos Festival is also to recognize the unique individuals, especially the establishments in the development of the localities, together with the top 10 taxpayers, business icons, outstanding citizens, and a posthumous award to veteran actor Tony Mabesa.
Day one of the activities will be awarding the top ten taxpayers to be held at Teatro Genuino at Trace College and search for outstanding citizens, a carnival fair at General Paciano Rizal Park, and “Barangay Night” to be held at the evacuation center.
On the second day, the carnival fair, cultural show, LBIRIT Star Search, Zumbaños, Bailamos, Padyak, Civic Parade, and Hot Air Balloon Fiesta to be held at UPLB Freedom Park, Bayle sa Kalye, also to be held at UPLB Freedom Park, Mister and Miss Bagong Los Baños, and the five days of activities will have a color run, and grand revelry.
Hotspring and non-hot spring resorts in the town may soon offer discounts during the 5-day event celebrating the hot spring bath festival.
“Dito sa Los Baños maraming tourism destination na ipinagmamalaki [bukod] sa maraming resort dito [na] magiging kaakit-akit para sa mga turista,” Genuino added.
