CAVITE CITY – As part of the Cavite City Day celebration, Local Social Welfare and Development conducted various activities for residents on Thursday, September 8, 2022.

Mayor Denver Chua and Vice Mayor Raleigh Rusit, together with Councilor Marriane Pinzon, Chair Committee on Social Welfare and Development and Local Social Welfare and Development Officer Rowena Andrade, led the local and overseas job fair; launching of high-speed sewing training; “Tulong Kaalaman para sa Magandang Kinabukasan”; distribution of educational assistance for solo parents; and “Kumustahan” with street people.

More than hundreds of mothers joined the free high-speed sewing training held on the 2nd floor of the administration building, CSWD (City Social Welfare and Development) compound. While some Cavite mommies attended the “Tulong Kaalaman para sa Magandang Kinabukasan”.

Mayor Chua, Vice Mayor Rusit, and Pinzon greeted more than 30 street people in a meeting held at CSWD grounds.

“Ang atin pong gobyerno ay mga programang tulad ng TESDA [Technical Education and Skills Development Authority] para maturuan kayo na kumita ng pera o maghanapbuhay at hindi umasa sa hingi sa pamahalaan,” Chua said in his message.

“Aaminin ko po sa inyo, ako po ay kinokunsinte ko kayo, kapag kayo po nahingi eh bigay agad ako, kung ganun po ang ating buhay eh papano na ho magbabago ang ating buhay kung ganun,” added Chua.

“Magtulong-tulong po tayo na i-avail po natin ang mga program ng pamahalaan lungsod na makakatulong sa inyo at pamilya,” stressed Chua.

Other parts of the celebration are Alay Lakad for Cavite City youth, coastal clean-up drive, Comelon 2002 Comida de Ayer food Fair, Araw ng mga Kawani, and the XIII Martyrs Day on September 12, and the unveiling of the new PNP Cavite City Headquarters situated at the back of Cuidad de Cavite Public Market.
