Lady cop helps woman give birth
PHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar yesterday commended a policewoman from Ilocos-Pangasinan region who helped a woman deliver her baby safely in Balaoan, La Union.
Eleazar said Corporal Wrechelle Beverly Ramos was preparing to go on duty when her neighbor Eugene Reyes asked her to help his wife who was about to give birth.
A registered nurse who joined the police force, Ramos immediately responded and helped the woman deliver her baby. She then assisted in bringing the new mother and her child to the Bungol District Hospital so they could receive proper medical attention.
“Si Police Corporal Reyes ay isa sa mga patunay na ang kapulisan ay palaging nandiyan upang tumulong sa ating mga kababayang nangangailangan. Sana ay magsilbi siyang inspirasyon sa iba pang pulis na huwag magdalawang-isip na umalalay sa mga nangangailangan ng ating serbisyo,” said Eleazar.
