AFTER drawing first blood in the PBA Governors’ Cup best-of-seven title showdown last Sunday, Barangay Ginebra is bracing for a fightback from TNT Tropang Giga in Game 2 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Game time is at 5:45 p.m.

Ginebra coach Tim Cone claimed the Kings should better be ready once the Tropang Giga finally get their rhythm back.

And that could come as early as Wednesday’s Game 2.

“They didn’t have a great shooting night in Game 1. But you know, they’re going to have two or three games where they’ re going to shoot the lights out and there’s probably nothing we can do about it,” said Cone after the game.

“That didn’t happen (last Sunday) so we’re able to control the game a little bit,” he added.

Even TNT coach Jojo Lastimosa admitted TNT’s poor shooting made the big difference in the game.

“We only had nine turnovers in the game, but we .just couldn’t make shots. The defense is going to be there in the finals but if you can’t make shots, you got no chance and they hit theirs,”Lastimosa told sportswriters.

Lastimosa said the Tropang Giga have to make a lot of adjustments to find their touch if they’re to strike back and even the title series.

“Roger (Pogoy) and even Jayson (Castro), know what needs to be done and I’m hoping they can pick it up offensively in the next game so it will be a better game for us,” added Lastimosa.

Lastimosa also said Poy Erram, who was disqualified on six fouls and incessant complaining to the referees, should do a better job in controlling his emotions.

“Poy’s got to do a better job of controlling his emotions… I was actually pissed at him; his teammates were actually getting on him because he’s beginning to be a distraction by complaining too much,” said Lastimosa.

And we need Poy in the game now that’s Justin’s out and Kelly’s out.”

Erram finished with four points, six rebounds and two assists in only 19 minutes.

And while the Tropang Giga turned ice cold, the Gin Kings went hot.

Meanwhile, the PBA officially sealed its partnership with Arena Plus making ArenaPlus its Official Sports Entertainment Gateway.
