A SEXAGENARIAN barangay official stabbed and wounded a security guard when he got jealous upon seeing the victim visiting a woman he was courting Sunday afternoon in Malabon City.

Malabon Police chief P/Col. Albert Barot identified the suspect as Danilo Manansala, 67, Barangay Executive Officer (Ex-O) of Brgy. 17, Caloocan City, who immediately fled on board a Mitsubishi L-300 van after the incident.

Case investigator P/SSgt. Jeric Tindugan said the victim, identified as Raul Baquirin, 55 of Brgy. Old Balara, Quezon City visited his fellow security guard Rowena Basinillo, 38 in her house at Purok Uno, Brgy. Potrero past 12 noon.

While inside, Basinillo offered her fellow security guard to eat lunch with her which the latter accepted.

P/SSgt. Tindugan said that while the two were having their late lunch at around 1:15 p.m., the suspect forcibly barged inside and in a fit of jealousy, stabbed the victim once in the back, upon seeing the two eating together.

After the incident, the suspect hurriedly escaped from the area while the victim was rushed by Barangay Potrero Ambulance Team to Manila Central University (MCU) hospital for medical treatment.

Col. Barot said elements of Malabon Police Sub-Station 1 led by P/Lt. Joseph Almayda tried to locate the suspect in his residential address in Caloocan City but was not found.
