THE government-mandated health and safety protocols, including the wearing of masks, are supposed to protect the Filipino people against the dreaded coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Given the urgent need to reinvigorate the Philippine economy, the government must ensure the safety of workers and students returning to work and school, respectively.
That’s why we, like the rest of the people, commend concermed state offices and agencies for emphasizing the importance of observing the health and safety protocols.
Aside from the wearing of masks, the people, including the elderly or senior citizens, ought to observe the government policy of social distancing and regular hand washing.
In the view of many, these protocols are very effective in controlling the spread of the deadly virus.
“Kaya nga marami nang nagsarang negosyo ang bukas na hindi lang sa Metro Manila kundi sa buong bansa dahil nagawa nating kontrolin ang COVID-19,” said a health official.
In fact, reports said that the number of new COVID-19 cases continues to go down in various parts of the country.
Aside from the health and safety protocols, the highly-successful vaccination program played a stellar role in preventing the upsurge of COVID-19 cases in this Asian nation.
“Dati, maraming ayaw magpabakuna dahil sa takot. Pero noong maglabasan ang iba-ibang variant ng virus ay boluntaryo na silang nagpabakuna,” a village official noted.
Indeed, the reopening of the struggling economy excites more and more people into working harder.
