Fire hits warehouse in Kawit, residential areas in Bacoor

KAWIT, Cavite – A fire destroyed a textile and soft drinks warehouse at Kalayaan Road, Barangay Magdalo-Potol, Kawit, Cavite, on Thursday night, Nov. 3, 2022.

The fire broke out at 10:20 p.m. and is believed to have started at the textile warehouse where garments are stored.

The fire brigade of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Kawit, Noveleta, and Alapan Imus immediately responded to extinguish the fire, which reached the 2nd alarm and was declared under control at around 1:12 a.m., Nov. 4, according to Fire Senior Inspector Armand Lee Andres, ground commander.

Meanwhile, two residential areas in Bacoor City were under fire in neighboring villages of Niog 2 and Niog 3 on Nov. 3, 2022.

One 3-storey residential apartment type owned by Fernando Tan and more or less 40 to 50 families were affected by the fire in 2nd St., Sto Niño, Niog 3.

A BFP investigation disclosed that at about 7:13 a.m., the Bacoor BFP announced the first alarm, and the fire was under control at around 7:33 a.m.

More or less ten firetrucks responded from a nearby barangay, and no injured persons were reported as of this writing.

In Niog 2, a fire started around 6:00 p.m. at a residential house on Danny Reyes St. and reached 1st alarm.

A woman was injured and suffered a 2nd-degree burn on her left forearm.

BFP Bacoor declared fire out at 6:34 p.m., and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
