NAGING kauna-unahang Pangulo ng Pilipinas si Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na bumisita sa Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi sa Bongao, Tawi-Tawi, isa sa mga pinakadulong bayan ng Pilipinas sa timog.

Ayon kay 2nd Marine Brigade commander Brigadier General Nestor Narag Jr., isang karangalan na mabisita ng isang Pangulo ng bansa ang kanilang kampo.

“Indeed, we are very much honored and privileged to have you here with us this morning for it is the first time in the history of the deployment of our brigade here in the province of Tawi-Tawi that the highest official of the land sets foot inside this headquarters,” pahayag ni General Narag.

“Along that line Mr. President sir, kami po ay taus-pusong nagpapasalamat sa inyong pagdalo and thank you very much sir,” pahayag ni General Narag.

Sinaluduhan naman ni Pangulong Marcos ang mga sundalo sa pagpapanatili sa kapayapaan sa lugar. Isang karangalan daw na maging kauna-unahang Pangulo na nakabisita sa kampo.

“The reason is not because other presidents did not want to come here, it was because other presidents were not allowed by the security conditions that had passed before to be able to come here,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

“And that is why, I am very happy that we can now show that it is peaceful in Tawi-Tawi,” pahayag ni Pangulong Marcos.

Nagtungo si Pangulong Marcos sa Tawi-Tawi para mamahagi ng pinansyal na tulong sa mga magsasaka at mangingisda na naapektuhan ng El Niño.

Ayon sa Pangulo, isa ang Tawi-Tawi sa naging conflict ground zero noon at nagsilbing kuta ng mga terorista at kidnapping activities.

“Ngayon, imbes na naglalabanan, ang labanan ngayon dito pagandahan na ng resort. Very, very big achievement and the part that you played in that is a very, very major part so congratulations for the good work and for a job well done,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
