EleazarPHILIPPINE National Police (PNP) chief, General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar yesterday urged the public to take advantage of their E-Sumbong to continuously report quarantine violations in their neighborhood and help the government address possible health problems brought about by COVID-19 and its Delta variant.

“I am urging the public to report or provide any information to the police if they have information on violations of quarantine protocols.

The ‘E-Sumbong’ platform includes the PNP’s official hotlines, social media accounts, and email where the public may file reports, complaints, or concerns that need immediate action.

Gen. Eleazar urged the public to report any complaint or concern on their community or even PNP personnel involved in any irregularities through its official SMS hotline — 0919-160-1752 (Smart); 0917-847-5757 (Globe).

Information may also be forwarded to their email address: [email protected] or through social media – facebook.com/Official PNPhotline and web portal (https://e-sumbong.pnp.gov.ph).

The top cop issued the call to the citizenry after more than 40 individuals were apprehended by the police in Pasig City for attending a birthday party in a local resort. The venue was ordered closed by the Pasig City government.

Eleazar said.

He earlier reminded police personnel to be on the lookout for mass gatherings in their areas of responsibility as they could become super spreader events.

The PNP chief also urged the public to strictly abide by quarantine protocols.

Eleazar said.

The PNP’s E-Sumbong aimed to improve its action on citizens’ concerns through an enhanced complaint referral and monitoring system. Eleazar said.

The PNP chief also ordered the National Capital Region Police Office headed by Major Gen. Vicente D. Danao Jr. to ensure that the distribution of government cash assistance in Metro Manila will not turn into ‘super spreader events.’

This after the NCRPO started assisting local government units in the metropolis in distributing cash assistance to low-income families affected by the Enhanced Community Quarantine.

Gen. Eleazar and top NCRPO officials have inspected the deployment of their men in different Ayuda Centers in Quezon City and Manila.

Gen. Eleazar recalled the incident last week wherein the vaccination processes in some parts of Manila and Las Piñas City needed to be cancelled because of overcrowding.

“Hindi dapat mangyari sa cash aid distribution ang nangyari nitong nakaraang linggo sa iba’t-ibang vaccination centers kung saan dinumog ng mga tao,” he said.

The PNP chief said his field commanders should be aware of the schedule and system of cash aid distribution in their areas of responsibility.
