AS part of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office’s (PCSO) efforts to get more familiarized with its beneficiaries, Chairman Junie E. Cua visited one of the grantees of the agency’s Institutional Partnership Program (IPP).

Cua visited Gentle Hands, Inc., a welfare home for at-risk children in Quezon City.

“We see these visits as crucial in improving the PCSO’s service. Magandang oportunidad din ito para makita natin kung para kanino ba ang mga pagsisikap natin,” said Cua.

He also said that the visits are in line with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr.’s directive to find ways to improve and enhance the agency’s service.

Through the IPP, the PCSO assists and supports various welfare agencies and charitable medical facilities nationwide.

Qualified organizations are given P300,000 to help finance charity services to poor and marginalized sectors in local communities.

Cua said that Gentle Hands is “truly deserving” of the fund infusion, given its track record of helping rescued children.

The organization, which is headed by Charity Graff, provides a home, educational and medical assistance, spiritual nurturing, and psychological and social care for rescued children until they can be returned to their families, be placed in foster care, or adoption is facilitated.

“Nakita naman natin kung paano alagaan ng Gentle Hands ang mga ward nila. They are truly deserving of the additional funding from the agency, at umaasa kaming mas marami pa ang matutulungan nilang bata dahil dito,” Cua said.

In 2022, the PCSO assisted 62 institutions for a total amount of P28.3 million.
