Couple nabbed for shabu

A COUPLE was arrested for alleged possession of 35 grams of shabu worth P238,000 in a buy-bust operation Sunday evening in Valenzuela City.

Valenzuela police Officer-in-Charge (OIC) P/Col. Salvador Destura, Jr. said Richard Alejandrino, 49, and his wife Jeanette, 48, both of 168 Maysan Road, Valenzuela City were arrested by elements of the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) led by P/Lt. Joel Madregalejo after they allegedly conspired in selling shabu worth P45,000 to a police poseur-buyer,

The operation, according to Col. Destura, that transpired at around 7:30 p.m. along Karen Avenue, Brgy. Gen. T. De Leon, was in line with the program Seen, Appreciated and Felt by the people through Extraordinary actions (S.A.F.E.) NCRPO which was launched by P/BGen. Jonnel Estomo, OIC of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

SDEU operatives also recovered from the couple the marked money consisting of one genuine P500 bill, 32 pieces of P1,000 boodle money and 25 pieces of P500 boodle money and an android cellular phone they used in their illegal drug transactions.

The husband and wife were presented for inquest proceedings before the Valenzuela City Prosecutor’s Office on charges for selling, trading, administration, dispensation, delivery, distribution and transportation of dangerous drugs under Article II of R.A. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.
