Cops uproot, burn P9M marijuana crops; no one arrested

OPERATIVES of the Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and the Cordillera Police Regional Office uprooted than P9 million worth of fully-grown marijuana plants and seedlings in Tinglayan, Kalinga last Thursday but no one was arrested, PDEG director Colonel Dionisio Bartolome announced Sunday.

The official said that members of the PDEG Cordillera Special Operations Group and the police stormed the secret cannabis site in Brgy. Butbut in Tinglaya early morning Thursday.

The officers uprooted more than 45,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants in the area and later burned them. However, no one was arrested after.
