Contractor yields weapons, shabu in Lipa

A 44-YEAR-OLD contractor was nabbed by police operatives after the serving of a search warrant and seized his unlicensed gun, ammo, and shabu in Barangay San Lucas, Lipa City, Batangas on Tuesday.

Lipa City Police Station (CPS) chief Lt. Col Ariel B. Azurin said the suspect was a “contractor” and a resident of the said barangay.

Elements of Lipa CPS conducted the implementation of a search warrant around 4:37 p.m. February 14 against the suspect for violation of Republic Act (RA) No. 10591 or the “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act” (RA 10591) issued by Judge Leo-Jon P. Ramos of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 85 of Lipa City, Batangas dated Feb. 10, 2023.

The said implementation was conducted in an orderly manner and witnessed by the three village councilors, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

Recovered were four plastic sachets of shabu weighing 11 grams with a Dangerous Drug Board (DDB) value of P75,900, one cal. 32 revolver without a serial number, loaded with six live ammo, four pieces ammunition for cal. .32, one magazine for cal. .45 magazine loaded with six live bullets, one belt bag, one aluminum foil strip, a tooter with shabu residue, lighters, and one weighing scale.
