THE Commission on Elections said teachers who will serve in the 2022 elections must be vaccinated against COVID-19.

Comelec spokesperson James Jimenez said they want all the teachers who will serve as Board of Election Inspectors to be vaccinated.

“Isa ‘yan sa mga gusto natin mangyari na ang lahat ng teacher eh bakunado bago sila mag-serve as BEI,” he said.

Jimenez said the poll body is in talks with the Department of Education regarding teachers who will serve as BEIs in next year’s elections since it involves budget and they are already preparing their budget proposal for next year.

“’Yan ang pinag-uusapan with DepEd ngayon, kasi may budget considerations diyan and naghahanda na kami ngayon para sa budget proposal natin sa Kongreso,” he said.
The presidential election is set for May 9, 2022.
