Car driver dies in Batangas road crash
A 25-YEAR-OLD driver was killed after the car he was driving accidentally collided with a trailer truck along Diversion Road, in Bgy. Balagtas, Batangas City on Thursday.
Batangas City police identified the fatality as Carlos Ellazer Perez, resident of Pallocan West, Batangas City.
Initial investigation showed that at about 5:45 a.m., a Hino 700 tractor head (NFT 8812), with attached flatbed trailer bearing (PUL 965), was being driven by a married man who resides in Bgy. Marcelo Green, Sucat, Pañaque City, along the Diversion Road in Bgy. Balagtas headed towards Batangas pier when it accidentally collided with a Mitsubishi Lancer Sedan (CLK 863) driven by Perez who was then traveling along the inner lane portion of said road.
Perez sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Golden Gate General Hospital, Batangas City by a responding fire rescue ambulance for medical treatment but was pronounced dead on arrival by Dra. Marielle D. Mendoza, the attending physician, at about 6:44 a.m. on the same date.
Police arrested the truck driver who is now under the temporary custodial facility of the Batangas City police. Charges will be filed against him before the Batangas City Prosecutor’s Office.
