SAN JOSE CITY — A known franchise convenience store in this city was robbed by unidentified burglars of about P200,000 in cash and other valuables, police said yesterday.

Robbed was the AlfaMart convenience store in Bgy. Sibut, this city.

City police head Lt. Col. Criselda De Guzman said the heist was discovered by Jeric Maiquez, 24, a store crew, of Bgy. Magtanggol, Science City of Munoz, when he opened the store at 5:40 a.m. on Sunday.

The unidentified suspects gained entry through the back portion of the store building by climbing the perimeter fence and cutting its butterfly wires.

After which, the suspects dismantled the back window and once inside the stockroom, they destroyed the vault and carted away about P170,000 in cash, including three company mobile phones worth P20,000, and prepaid load cards amounting to P3,000.

The official said they are checking the security cameras installed in the area for possible identification and arrest of the suspects.
