‘Akyat-Bahay’ killed in Cavite gunfight
GENERAL TRIAS CITY, Cavite – An “Akyat-Bahay” gang member on Thursday was killed in a shootout with responding policemen in Bgy. Manggahan, this city.
City police chief Lt. Col. Jose Naparato Jr. said slain was Jhon Brix Simpelo, a resident of Sitio Tinungan, Bgy. Manggahan, General Trias City.
An investigation showed the suspect entered the house of Paul Aries Villalobos in Bgy. Manggahan at 12:25 a.m. on Thursday and fled with the victim’s money and valuables.
A CCTV footage caught the suspect fleeing from the victim’s house.
Villalobos sought the help of the police, who immediately launched pursuit operations led by Chief Master Sgt. Jones Casauran, and Sgt. Walter Salvador.
When cornered, the suspect pulled out a gun and fired at the pursuing lawmen who retaliated.
Seized at the clash site were an improvised gun locally called as sumpak and an ammunition for the firearm.
